The special tour as part of the anniversary "The Emperor's last journey - the climax and reign of Otto the Great in 973" presents the highlights of the Merseburg Cathedral Treasure.

Under the motto "When the emperor gives gifts...", we show you treasures of unrivalled cultural value such as the "Merseburg Magic Spells", gems of late medieval art such as Cranach's Henry Altarpiece and reveal many a secret about the lives of emperors and kings such as the myths surrounding Thilo von Trotha or the mummified hand of Rudolf of Swabia.
