Merseburg Cathedral Music VI: „Farewell – Music from Eszterháza Palace“
Merseburg Cathedral Music regularly organises concerts in Merseburg Cathedral. The varied programme ranges from organ concerts on the Ladegast organs to symphonies and chamber concerts in the cloister.
On 30th August, summer concludes festively. For Friedrich Ladegast's 208th birthday, Istvan Ella will play the magnificent organ, while Michael Schönheit interprets Haydn's piano concerto on the fortepiano. The Merseburger Hofmusik will crown the evening with the famous „Farewell Symphony“. A highlight full of historical authenticity and poetry, which puts the work of the important organ builder and Haydn's genius at the centre.
