Lunchtime concerts featuring works by Hungarian musicians
The lunchtime concerts in Merseburg Cathedral offer a musical interlude for all generations at midday. The programme is aimed at both upper secondary school pupils and all organ enthusiasts. Organists will perform works from the rich Hungarian musical tradition, allowing the cathedral organ to shine with its diverse tonal colours.
The programme will be hosted by Alex Huth, known from the children's channel and various presenting roles in the region. The concerts thus combine cultural education for pupils and all music lovers with a special auditory experience in the historic space of the cathedral.

Alex Huth
István Ella counts among the defining personalities of the Hungarian organ scene. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and won international competitions early on, including the renowned improvisation competition in Nuremberg. In addition to his extensive concert activities throughout Europe, he served as a professor of organ at the Liszt Academy and shaped several generations of organists. His repertoire ranges from Baroque music to modern works, and he is particularly valued for his stylistic versatility and impressive improvisational artistry. For his artistic work, Ella received the Liszt Prize in 1999 and the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Republic in 2007.
