The Salon Orchestra Cappuccino was 1989 in Leipzig founded and has since dedicated itself to salon and entertainment music in all its stylistic diversity. Its programme spectrum ranges from the early Viennese origins of salon music and opera and operetta repertoire to thematic evenings that also illuminate the social and political contexts of entertainment music. The ensemble normally performs in the so-called „reduced Paris occupation“ with nine musicians, but also performs in smaller ensembles depending on the occasion. Its members predominantly belong to renowned ensembles such as the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the State Opera Halle or teach at music conservatoires in Cologne, Bremen and Leipzig. The ensemble is particularly characterised by the pianist and arranger Horst Singer as well as by the standing violinist and compere Albrecht Winter, who conducts and comperes the concerts with great stylistic knowledge. Cappuccino has been a firm fixture at the Leipzig Gewandhaus for years; from the series „There's only one of those“ are they there by now over 100 programmes which emerged, describing the ensemble itself as a nationally unique subscription format for coffee house music. „Hungarian Operetta“ Does the Salonorchester Cappuccino bring precisely that blend of elegance, historical knowledge, charm, and musical agility that makes this repertoire so appealing?.
